On Monday 24th of June it was the Tauranga Intermediate Cross-Country.
I came 49th out of 370 people so I am pretty proud of myself. The
race was 3km long. Before the race I was kind of nervous but before
I new it the starter gun went off and we were all running. After the race
I was proud of myself for coming 49th out of 370 kids.
I am a Year 7 student at Tauranga Intermediate School, New Zealand. I am in Rm 29 and my teacher is Miss McKenzie.

Improve your study skills: Research Rimu- where do you find it? Why is it important to Māori? What uses does it have? Why is Rimu the best tree in the school?
Where do you find it ?
Rimu trees are only found in New Zealand they are found in the North island, South island and Stewart island. They are mostly found on the west coast of the south island and the forests near Taupo.
Why is it important to māori ?
In the olden days māori used rimus inner bark was used as medicine for cuts and burns.
They also used the bitter gum to stop bleeding and the leafs were used on sores.
What uses does it have ?
The Māoris used to make rimu into timber which was made into furniture.
the wood is also very strong.
Why is rimu the best tree in the school ?
Rimu is the best tree in the school because it stands tall above all the
other trees and is used for many things.
