Te Whare Wananga o Te Maro

Tahuhu is the back bone and the Heke are the ribs which make a strong whare. The head represents
the ancestors face which always faces northwards towards the sun. There are three iwi on top of each other.  The top iwi is Ngati ranginui, the middle one is Ngati Pukenga and the bottom one is Ngai te rangi. Rope Taura has every colour of every house.
