Waitangi Day

The first person to sign the treaty was 
Hone Heke. Waitangi day has also been a public holiday since 1974. The Treaty Of Waitangi was a treaty between the british and maori for land. Waitangi Day now in the 21st century is celebrated as one of New Zealands most important holidays. The Treaty Of Waitangi is to make peace between the British and Maori.
